The Origins of Shinyyyy…
Back in the day Skytso owned what was known to many as the Brown Mass. Given that this story is from a good while back, probably 2001, 2002, or possibly 2003, the details are somewhat foggy in my mind… If you could find it in your hearts to forgive I would greatly appreciate it. Anywho, the Brown Mass was parked at David’s house while he was somewhere else, I’m thinking work (although I don’t know why he didn’t have the car with him, see - foggy details).
Chuck and John-boy relieved me of my boredom of being at Skytso’s without him. They called me up wanting to go to Wal-mart to buy some spray paint for Billy’s car. It was chipped or something like that. We got to Wal-mart and immediately thought of all the things that we could do to the Brown Mass since Skytso wasn’t around. We bought a roll or two of duct tape and some gold spray paint.
By the way, the Brown Mass was somewhat of a joke. It had toy soilders on the dash, a fag resistant sticker on the rear view mirror and neon yellow spray painted hubcaps. No kidding! When we returned to Skytso’s we proceeded to deck the car out more by writing stuff on the car with the duct tape and, I believe, we covered the whole front with duct tape. We then spray painted the hubcaps gold, and it was amazing!
Being night, I had to ask, “How will David realize we’ve done something? It’s almost too dark to see anything.” Without a moments hesitation, John looked at me and said, “Oh thats easy. He’ll see the gold hubcaps and be like ‘Shinyyyyyy…’.” Thus the phrase “Shinyyyy…” was borne, and is the term used for things to which our eyes are easily drawn.
